Opening Times

The Breakwater Cafe is open during the same times as the rest of the centre. Please see the top of this webpage for opening times.

Stop Press: We are open on Fridays and Saturdays during May until 9pm due to popular demand. We are offering a Twilight Menu. We also have a lovely drinks menu to complement the twilight food.

Our aim is to bring a real taste of the seaside to your table. With our seasonally changing menu we aspire to have something that will tantalise all taste buds. Our menu is made up of locally sourced ingredients such as stotties from Glenton’s bakery. Prices are reasonable, starting from just £3.95 for lunch and offers are regularly available. NorthumberlandWe are fully licensed and cater for all visitors including families, large groups and people with specific dietary requirements. When you visit us you will experience good quality food seasoned with a fun and relaxed atmosphere with staff and volunteers who are passionate about food and the local area. Some of the items you will regularly find on our menu are our very own inventions, such as toasted stotties, our exclusive Salty Coble Crunch ice-cream created for us by Morwicks and afternoon tea inspired by the seaside.

 

We hold a programme of events throughout the year including wine tasting evenings, BBQ’s and food exploration nights so check the website and our Facebook page for more details. If you would like to exhibit your artwork in our café or perform for our customers please do get in touch.

Functions, events and catering at Newbiggin Maritime Centre - catering for up to 80 persons in our Latimer Function room

We cater for all sizes of functions and events in the Latimer Room from teas and coffees through to full buffets, hot and cold. The Latimer Room is available for hire from kids parties and christenings to board meetings, conferences, training days and the like. Use of The Breakwater Cafe and the shop, Sea Shore, is free of charge. A small admission charge applies for entrance to the exhibition.
